We are looking for an extra special UK foster home for our gorgeous Charlie. He is struggling very much in kennels for two reasons. 1. He is a young and fun-loving dog, he jumps up at his kennel bars and has sores between his toes that keep bleeding because of the wire đ and 2. He has major issues with weight gain from a life of being malnourished and fed on only bread crusts, and being in a kennel means he is not gaining the muscle he so needs because of the lack of exercise. His mind and body need to play and enjoy life!
For those of you who donât know Charlie, he was rescued when we spotted his owner waiting at the side of the road with him to give him away to the dog catchers. If Charlie went to the dog catchers he would be dead by now, wether euthanised, or more likely because itâs cheaper: killed in a dog fight, or starved to death đ
He is not great with male dogs but okay with females if you are experienced in introducing dogs! His true love is people, the vets adore him because he is so happy to go there and get cuddles. He is a big baby really âĽď¸ He has a unique look because his ears and tail have been docked, and very poorly at that đ He is untrained of course, he lived on the street attached to a chain his whole life and is now confined to a kennel which is so frustrating for him. He needs someone experienced with large breeds and a nice sized secure garden for him to play in. He SO deserves love, and I think it will truly be his best medicine.
He is 25kg and should be 40+ đ
Charlie has had an amazing and dedicated sponsor fighting his corner, we were able to put him on higher quality food, take him for extensive tests which came back fine and shocked us⌠so he can have further tests if foster/vet thinks itâs necessary in the UK which we will pay for. But we truly feel that his lifestyle of being caged is holding his recovery back more than anything else.
